- Leo Demer, CEO, JLT Australia, has won the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award at icare’s 2017 Care and Service Excellence (CASE) Awards held yesterday in Sydney.
The Lifetime Achievement award recognises the continual contribution and outstanding achievements of an individual for their leadership and commitment to the betterment of the workers’ compensation industry.
Leo Demer was presented with the coveted award for his pivotal role in revolutionising and improving the workers compensation industry in Australia over the past 30 years.
“I’m honoured and humbled to receive such a prestigious award. It’s an absolute privilege to lead a client focused organisation like JLT, and I’m proud of the increasingly important role JLT plays in supporting businesses to better manage risks affecting their people,” said Leo Demer, CEO, JLT.
“Over the last 30 years, Leo has made significant contributions to the workers compensation industry, improving outcomes for Local Government where 1 in 3 workers were injured, to only 1 in 20 today - delivering on average 30% in premium savings to Councils,” said Nick Harris, Deputy CEO, JLT.
Leo was also instrumental in creating the first ever, fully integrated national ‘whole of people risk’ offering to the market.
“JLT’s unique approach provides our clients with a holistic perspective on issues impacting their workforce, and delivers tailored, innovative solutions which make a positive impact. It’s a win-win situation for employers and employees - with reduced premiums, fewer claims, faster return-to-work and a strong safety culture," added Harris.
Embodying JLT’s client-first approach, Leo is dedicated to continue to develop innovative and cost-effective offerings for our clients, safe working environments for employees and efficient programs to assist injured Australians to get back to work and on their feet.
