JLT People Risk partner, Clayton Utz, recognised for the quality and impact of their market leading health initiatives at the 2017 Australasian Law Awards in Sydney.
JLT is proud to announce Clayton Utz, JLT People Risk partner, as the winner of the Employee Health and Wellbeing Award at the 2017 Australasian Law Awards in Sydney on Thursday 18th May.
JLT has advised and supported Clayton Utz, a leading Australian law firm, with the development of their absence management framework and unique Salary Continuance products to help them understand and address employee related risks.
”Working with JLT, we introduced a psychological rehabilitation program which has a focus on early return to work. Under the program, we consult with employees impacted by mental health concerns to develop a plan which involves their continuing to work in some capacity and maintaining a sense of purpose and connection, which is an important part of their recovery. This approach contributed to a 72% reduction in psychological claims due to people being actively supported in returning to work sooner,” said Alexia Houston, Head of Insurance & Risk, Clayton Utz.
“Complementing this is our firm-wide health and wellbeing program that includes sessions on managing anxiety, building resilience and the importance of sleep, as well as access to free counselling through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The success of this program, which we are continually refining and improving, is reflected in a 27% usage increase in our EAP over the past year. This shows us there is less stigma around mental health issues in our workplace, and our employees are more knowledgeable and comfortable in seeking help early.”
JLT and Clayton Utz also partnered with insurance company AIA to introduce the Vitality program into their workplace. The behaviour change program uses incentive-based rewards including heavily discounted gym memberships and flights to encourage employees to be active and healthy. Clayton Utz employees collected over 1,400 rewards valued at $23,000 from September to December 2016.
“We are proud to see one of our People Risk partners rewarded for the quantity, quality, impact and innovativeness of their investment in health and wellbeing. JLT support Clayton Utz's greatest asset with risk mitigation and sustainable solutions, focusing on ability whilst supporting their people financially,” said Chris Sinclair, Divisional Manager - Benefit Solutions, JLT.
As the only insurance broker with a specialised people risk offering for law firms, JLT’s long-standing sponsorship of the Employee Health and Wellbeing Award demonstrates the many ways in which JLT supports the Legal industry.
JLT extends their congratulations to all finalists of the JLT Health and Wellbeing Award.
