CEO, Risk Consulting


Paul is the Head of Risk Consulting for JLT Australia and New Zealand. For the past 20 years, Paul has provided expert advice in the complex areas of Business Interruption insurance either on coverage (policy wording, structure, sub limits or declared values) or claims. He has strong project management skills and the ability to understand client needs and develop strong relationships.

Prior to his appointment at JLT, Paul was the Managing Director for one of the largest global insurance broker’s Risk Consulting Division in Australia and New Zealand. During this time a number of service lines reported to Paul including Analytical + Captive Management, Engineering + Risk Management, eSolutions, Risk Accounting and Valuation Services. He was also a member of the Executive Management committee in Australia and on the board of Global Risk Consulting representing Asia Pacific.

Before entering the insurance broking industry, Paul worked at one of the Big Four accountants for 19 years, the last decade as a Partner. During his time he developed strong technical skills in Audit, Insurance and Forensic Accounting.

Managing Director, Claims


Stephen is the Managing Director of Claims for our Specialty division. Throughout his 35 years in the insurance industry, he has managed claims across all classes of business.

He spent almost 30 years with Zurich Insurance, holding a number of key roles in specific lines of business including National Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager, National CTP Claims Manager and National Casualty Claims Manager. During his employment within the Zurich Group, he held responsibility for the overall performance of the business’s General Insurance Claims operation as Executive General Manager (EGM) – Claims across all lines of business.

As EGM – Claims, he provided direction, instructions and authority on claims managed by Zurich. He managed a team of 270 personnel handling 105,000 claims across seven lines of business. Stephen provided instructions and authority on large claims emanating from global clients across a wide variety of industries.

Stephen was elected as one of ten global industry members to manage CSR’s asbestos litigation, leading to the resolution of a class action of 110,000 claims emanating out of the US. He has also conducted direct negotiations in Chicago with US-domiciled directors to resolve Directors’ and Officers’ Liability claims.
